The Effect of Chemical Reaction and Double Stratification on MHD Free Convection in a Micropolar Fluid with Heat Generation and Ohmic Heating
نویسندگان
چکیده
The present paper deals with the study of flow, heat and mass transfer characteristics of the free convection on a vertical plate in porous media with variable wall temperature and concentration in a doubly stratified and viscous dissipating micropolar fluid in presence of chemical reaction, heat generation and Ohmic heating. A uniform magnetic field is applied normal to the plate. The governing non-linear partial differential equations are transformed into a system of non-linear ordinary differential equations using similarity transformations and, then, solved numerically using the Runge-KuttaFehlberg method with a shooting technique. The non-dimensional velocity, microrotation, temperature and concentration are presented graphically for various values of magnetic parameter, coupling number, thermal stratification parameter, solutal stratification parameter and chemical reaction parameter. The skin-friction coefficient, the wall couple stress coefficient, the Nusselt number and the Sherwood number are shown in a tabular form. © 2015 Jordan Journal of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering. Heat generation and radiation effects on steady MHD free convection flow of micropolar fluid past a moving surface
This paper was concerned with studying the magnetohydrodynamic steady laminar free convection flow of a micropolar fluid past a continuously moving surface in the presence of heat generation and thermal radiation. Similarity transformation was employed to transform the governing partial differential equations into ordinary ones, which were then solved numerically using the finite element method...

The paper aims at investigating the effects of chemical reaction and thermal radiation on the steady two-dimensional laminar flow of viscous incompressible electrically conducting micropolar fluid past a stretching surface embedded in a non-Darcian porous medium. The radiative heat flux is assumed to follow Rosseland approximation. The governing equations of momentum, angular momentum, energy, ...

This article presents the heat and mass transfer characteristics of unsteady MHD flow of a viscous, incompressible and electrically conducting micropolar fluid in the presence of viscous dissipation and radiation over a porous stretching sheet with chemical reaction. The governing partial differential equations (PDEs) are reduced to ordinary differential equations (ODEs) by applying suitable si...

The motion of temperature dependent viscosity and thermal conductivity of steady incompressible laminar free convective (MHD) non-Newtonian Casson fluid flow over an exponentially stretching surface embedded in a thermally stratified medium are investigated. It is assumed that natural convection is induced by buoyancy and exponentially decaying internal heat generation across the space. The dim...
